SALADS
GERMAN BEAN SALAD
INGREDIENTS:
- 1 can cut green beans drained (1 lb)
- 1 can cut wax beans drained (1 lb)
- 1 can dark red kidney beans drained (1 lb)
- ½ cup diced celery
- ½ medium onion diced
- 1 small jar pimentos drained and diced
- ½ cup salad oil (do not use olive oil)
- ½ cup apple cider vinegar
- ½ cup sugar
- 1 tsp dry red wine (optional)
- 1 tsp celery seed
- salt to taste
- freshly ground pepper to taste
DIRECTIONS:
- Combine first six ingredients and mix well
- Combine remaining ingredients and pour over bean mixture
- Mix well
- Cover and refrigerate for several hours
- The longer you marinate the better the taste
